Default Fan Problem..... Dont work on 1,2,3 but works on 4...?

    Hi all,

just a quick question, i dont have a vectra as of yet...

but im hoping to look at one at the weekend... the add seems ok and reasonable price, mileage, full service history.

Just one thing im warey of is in the ad it says :

" THE HEATER HAS STOPPED WORKING ON 1,2,3, BUT WORKS ON 4. I"VE BEEN TOLD ITS A COMMON THING ON VAUXHALL'S AND IT'S THE RESISTOR. WHICH IS NOT ALOT TO FIX "

Just wondered if it is a common problem on the C's? and if it is a cheap & easy fix?

    Thanks, John

As said loads of info on here. Thing to check is for water in the passenger footwell which will come from a blocked drainage bung under the scuttle tray. Rain water will then come in through the pollen filter and kill the resistor pack for the fan, and evenutally the fan itself if left too long (as my mate found out).

Easy & cheap fix by all accounts.

Not neccessarily defo... could be a relay, as was the case with mine. However, as said previously, cheap and easy fix - so don't let that put you off at all
