    Default Ebay CD70

After a brief talk with bigmac and he suggested that a cd70 navi with cid should be a striaght swap into my 2005 full canbus vec. If i bought one from ebay, it should as they say in the add be "plug and play if fitted together" but most dont have sercurity code with them, so are no good without it are they?

I bought a CD70 and its CID from the bay and shoved it into my 2005 full canbus siggy, it came without a code. I have installed and removed a few vauxhall stereos in my car and all have worked straight away. Firstly, it went straight into the car and worked immediately (no tech2 required, so ignore that useless advise when you get it), secondly i have since been messing about with it using opcom and never needed the 'radio code'. I have taken it apart to add the aux in function and upgraded the firmware as well, its never asked for a code...

when you take out your old stereo have look behind to see if you can find a wire with a blue plug/connector on the end this will be the gps antennae. If you do not have one of these in the car the you by a fakra gps antennae from ebay, this will have the blue connector to plug into the back of the CD70 (a blue socket), ther fakra will have about 2 metres of cable leading to a black block about 5cm wide and long, this is the gps antennae, you feed this somewhere under the dash to a spot where you get a signal. Many have done this with the fakra. Just be sure that any CD70 and CID you buy comes with the RGB cable as this is the one that supplies the maps/navi to the screen.

With regards to buying without a securtiy code, the only time i need mine was when i had the bluetooth installed. Prior to that, it was just plug and play.

Should you need the security code in the future, it is possible to have it read.

This is the GPS antenna you will need if you dont have the connection already:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GPS-ANTENNA-FA...item5640f8db4f

I bundled the extra cable up, and put the antenna where the centre speaker goes. Fixes on the sats everytime in that position.

If you can read the VIN number from the screen using Op-Com, Vaux-Com etc you can then go to VX and get the code should you ever need it, plus it would then allow you to marry it to your can and use the your current code.
VX will charge you about £30 for this.

Because the CDR isnt coded to anything, where the NCDC is coded to the car/screen.
