501 canbus

Don't no whether this has been discussed. Fitted 501 can bus led side light bulbs on my 55 elite.
No matter what way i fitted them it put near side front parking light error up on the display.
Anybody had this problem? Thanks

I had exactly the same with my Siggy. Didn't matter which bulb I put in each holder the passenger side threw up the bulb out light. In the end I just bought some MTEC 501's and did away with the idea of LED's.

Was thinking of keeping the standard 501 in bulb holder and wiring a led after, in line.

I believe Chris meant wiring them to the interior lighting for the dashboard so they come on with those. I think someone has done what you've said though, put LEDs in with the bulbs somewhere else to keep the error away.

Will LEDs work in the number plate lights?

They will and they're not part of the bulb check system but will pulse for 20 or 30 seconds when you lock or unlock the car. Don't go for straight LEDs, they don't light the plate. Go for either the inverted ones (fitted to mine at the moment but I feel they're still a little too dim) or some SMD ones. I've been looking at them on Ebay - going to try the 25 SMD ones so they're nice and bright.
