    Vehicle : Insignia

    Trim : SRI NAV

    Engine : 1.6T 180 ECOTEC

    Year : 2012

    Default Vectra VXR is nice

Sat in a Vectra VXR today at a Car Supermarket, 09 Plate, 11K on the clock, Bright Red, but cost £12000, they offered me £4400, for my 07 Plate 1.9CDTI SRI 150 56K on clock. I got it from the same place 3 years ago for £11,000, now worth £4400 to them, shocking.

Anyway the seats and interiors are nice in the VXR especially the instrument dials, i turned on the ignition and the needles in the instrument dials move from 0 to full on and then back to 0. I was thinking how come my SRI doesn't do that??

Very tempted to buy the VXR if it was cheaper, as i have loss so much money on my car after owning it for 3 years. And i also worry about fuel cost, as the fuel prices keep rising but my wages isn't. To go from diesel back to petrol. Hum... At the moment weekly it cost me £30 diesel, wonder what petrol is like. I wish they did a VXR Diesel.

There's plenty of Vectra VXR's out there that are cheaper.

Harry bought one the other day for about £5k I think... he's well happy with it

It's a very personal choice. I drive a GSi 3.2 and love it to bits, I really do. To me, it's still worth it. But the costs of petrol are no longer merely a hindrance; they are a real problem. It is getting to the stage where even I am wondering whether or not I should keep my beloved GSi.

I've been thinking about it and decided that it is worth it - to me. And I can get 28 mpg in town in the GSi. Mind you, nuns regularly overtake me...

I just don't like buying a car privately, or from small trades, just don't know what problems the car has, and cost to retify. A test drive for 30 mins is not long enough to test if the car has any problems.

The best I've seen in my GSi on the open road. Motorway or fast country roads - it makes no difference. These big petrol-engined beasts can be relatively frugal. Well, considering the grin factor!

Note: my wife took the photos!

As gsifan says petrols have come on so far. 3.2 and 2.8 are real gem engines fast and most reliable from what i've seen at my dealer i work at.
