Default Surprised by a BMW 120d

As the title suggests I was surprised by how quick this car accelerated. We came off a roundabout onto the M62 and suddenly a big puff of smoke appeared from his exhaust. So obviously I bit and floored it as well.

I had reeled him in by the time we got onto the M62, but this is a cracking little car.

I bet the 1 series M sport will be a flier?

I guess Vectra`s aren`t the only cars to get remapped / boxed *lol* Shame the 1 series is ugly though ..

I quite liked the looks of the car - for the missus anyway *lol*

It may of been boxed or mapped, but I'm not so sure. It looked like rep man, and he didn't seem too bothered that I'd reeled him in.

We had a 120d courtesy car & it was a flying machine I can tell you.

Even standard I think it would be pretty close to my boxed 1.9.

    It was pig ugly though.

The standard BMW 120d is a little bit quicker than a mapped/boxed Vectra 1.9.

163bhp and over 250lb/ft, but with rear wheel drive, you don't get any initial scabble fro grip, I have learnt not to mess with them now.

They are a bad bad boy!!!!!

Has anyone seen the 3 Series Alpina D3? a 200bhp Alpina'd 320d, this is also a bad boy, not just a remap either, bigger turbo and intercooler along with different mapping.

Rumour has it there will be a 120 Alpina D1 as well, the 3 Series D3 does 0-60 in under 7.5 seconds and the rumoured D1 will apparently be under 7 seconds!!!!

has anyone ever shoehorned a 5 series 3.0 litre diesel engine into a 1 series?!

remap that and you'll have the widest grin on yer face possible!!

i'm sure someone would be crazy enough to try.

on the move though its not really an advantage though.

the 120d is quite heavy too like the vec-C. chipped ones make about 190hp
