    Default DPF Regen

Quick question, i'm sure this has cropped up before.

How do you know when the system is carrying out a DPF regeneration?

I've only had the car a few weeks (sri 150), but twice i've noticed lumpy tick over and slightly jerky when slowing down (auto trans). Use the car later in the day and all is well again.
I did read on another Vauxhall forum that one of the software upgrades puts the heated screen light on when DPF regen is in progress. Anyone come across that?

    Cheers
    Andy

like bangty says, pretty much the only way to tell is that your fuel consumption goes thru the roof whilst a regen is being carried out and you may see erratic idle, rev counter moving from 850 to 950, rather than the steady 850 during normal idle. On older cars, the glowplug light would come on during regen, but not so on the newer models 06 model onwards, seems alot of people took there cars back to the dealer thinking something was wrong when they saw the light. My estate normaly goes about 750 to 1000 miles between regens, it's just something you get use to as an owner and watch for it. One word of warning, do not switch the car off when regen is happening, let it finish as it just makes things worse if you dont.
