    Question Waterpump replacement

    Good evening,
My 3.0 dti is in the shop right now getting a new waterpump. Unfortunally they have to strip down a large section of the engine..

Could anyone tell me how long VX/Opel would take to make this repair??
Just to check out my own garage...
They also told me about an "helper waterpump".. Who know if it's there and what is it's function?

Hope to hear from you guys,
    Kind regards

i hate these autodata times these are set by doing the job on a new engine with all tools needed set out in reality its not like that, im a mechanic and everyjob is different even if its the same job (if u get me lol) you get rusted bolts, things siezed etc etc, i wouldnt listen to these times obviously unles they try charge 3 times the hours or over the top but sometimes a 1hour job can take 30mins other times it will take 1hour and half.

Like most publications Autodata is to be used as a guide

Without it I could under quote a job as much a over quote and then loose the job whilst with it I am giving myself a fighting chance to be competitive when quoting a customer for the repair required

As for tools required for the job surely having the correct tools only make the job a whole lot easier so therefore the job becomes more efficient

didnt say correct tools, do you know how they get there times for technical data? theres a garage (showing how smart i am i cant remeber the name lol) and they get the brand new engine and every tool they need is laid out on a table in order then they time it, its good as a guide but sometimes its way off and then you get people coming up saying auto data say this auto data says that its a joke at times
