Default immobiliser light 1.8Ls (sorry i posted in wrong section)

This is strange ok the car drives short journey, car is stoped and parked up.
I return 5 mins later and i get the light with the car and pad lock it does not flash just stays on.
I mess about with the central locking buttons on the key usually if i open the luggage compartment and put the key back in ignition the car and pad lock light goes out.
Also notice that when i press the lugage compartment light on the remote the hazzard lights flash once is this normal?
I have a new battery installed in car a few months ago and i have changed the battery in the remote for the central locking.
Do i have to bring it to vauxhall or can a local garage do a check on the computer?
Sorry forgot to mention that after a few tries to get the immboliser light off i get the light with a car and spanner,it does not flash just stays on for a few sceonds then i turn the key and the car starts.
Thank for any help and sorry for posting in wrong section
    Tony

    Default Help please guys

Would anyone know if this is a problem with my key or it it an electrical fault?
Dont want to spend a fortune fixing this at vauxhall,my car is in for a service this morning with a local mechanic,he said that vauxhall is the only place that can fix it and they would charge me a small fortune
