Well the fuel filter is being done tomorrow lunchtime. There's no obvious leaks around the leak off pipes or anywhere else. Yeah I'll try to get the car onto some form of gradient so the fuel can't leak back. Just hope it's not the fuel pump has gone. If you don't mind me asking, how much will I be looking at for the injector seals?

    Cheers.

pump went on my 53plate 80k 2.2dti few weeks back, scrapped it as the twin plug pump is so expensive. Hopeing for your sake its one of the more common easy fixes, fingers crossed!

Christ! She's got her mojo back!

Not sure if it was a bad batch of fuel or what but there was this horrible black gunky crap at the bottom of the filter holder that was all over the bottom third of the filter. The rest was almost black but this stuff was horrible. It was almost like tar but not as sticky. Cleaned it all out and put a new filter in. Back to scrabbling for grip in 3rd again!

Anyone down on power for a pretty unexplained reason that seems very gradual - change the fuel filter!

I posted about this in the How 2 section but the thread disappeared.

I was told to clean the housing by my dealer when I had problems with the V6CDTi. Done this on the 2.2DTi not long ago and it made a BIG difference

You're not kidding. It's like driving another car! I'm gonna aim to get at least another 50k out of it. That'll be about 250,000 miles, then when we get there, go in 5k increments

Just going back over this thread - I may look into this on my DTi as I neglected to change the fuel filter last service, what's best to clean the holder out with, paraffin or carb cleaner??

I'd give it a good soak in carb cleaner then see what comes out.
