    Default Good news :)

Was selling my A8, it's now sold to the first person that saw it, and got exactly what I wanted for it too

So now I need to buy a Vectra before Friday, gonna be doing some running round methinks...But I have the exact spec in mind and only that will do...

Will post up whatever I end up getting

Looking forward to it, even though a Vectra isnt gonna be a patch on the A8, but needs must and all that...

    Mart

The A8's are a lovely motor too. Be your sorry to see it go. Just don't buy a vx expecting it to keep its value like your A8!

Depends on the A8. When I was looking at W12's and 4.2 diesels they lost money worse than my old Vec

Most saloons of that size shed thousands in value each year. They're bought new by "Captains of Industry" and that malarkey, and they don't go looking for secondhand ones. Add in the price of fuel at the moment, and the values get even worse.

Slightly off topic but they do have more to lose, but then you were looking at the big engine models. Just makes them a better used buy

Couldnt beleive how long it took to sell, must be the time of year, plus running costs getting ****** high for fuel, insurance etc. Amazing that in six years it lost 45K!!
Just need something thats econimical, looks good and doesnt break the bank if it needs to go in for work, as the A8 is main dealer every time at £100 per hour! Even a battery is £250 fitted!

I really want an XP2 cdti with Nav, or a good Mondeo ST tdci with decent miles, but pound for pound it seems you get more with the VX.

P.S mine was a 3.0 tdi quattro A8 (2004)... amazing car and I will buy one again one day

Both the mondeo and vec are good buys used.

The VX's tend to be cheaper but the 1.9's have problems. The 2.2 tdci's in the ford have their own share of issues too! A few have injector problems, but regular fuel filter changes help this, check its had the wiring loom recall done and the rear subframe bushes tend to fail when the bonding fails. Its a subframe out job and 24hr cure time for the new ones to be stuck in.

It all comes down to what YOU like the best, just remember this is a VX forum, join a Ford forum and ask their advice too
