    Default dtuk box.....concerns?

hey i picked up a second hand dtuk tuning box today off a chap who bought it from a nearby vauxhall dealership, he fitted it for me in a matter of seconds and im amazed at the transformation.......however with any remap/tuning box iv always been warned to go steady doing certain things when running it on a high output.....eg my previous car (seat ibiza) i was warned on forums to go steady booting it off the line as it may in time cause the clutch to slip.....is there anything like this or anything i need to look out for that may cause damage??

DMF...and DPF are most dangerous thing for this type of tuning box. BTW, the mpg reading in board computer is no longer accurate with these box on.

dmf - dual mass flywheel - you will have this unless yours is auto
Dpf - Dust particulate filter - you will have one if it's auto, estate or signum

Yawn, I've never had a DMF failure and I melted an engine with butane explosioins!!!

There are issues with the DMF but as with the turbos, most of the problems are down to the drivers not knowing how to treat the car. People who turn the car off the minute they stop without letting the turbo spin down, people who drive the car hard when cold, e.t.c.

^^ agreed... bad use of clutch & starting the motor without depressing the clutch is a big cause of dmf failure...
this is why all new motors with dmf's will only turn over with the clutch pressed
