Default Dealers what a waste of time!!

Took my car in for its first service today and asked them to look at the clutch pedal which creaks and REALLY ANNOYS me , had a call later in the day to say car is ready, upon arrival they said they could find no problem with the pedal, but have sprayed it with some silicone grease. Fair enough i say go out to my car get in it and pull away and guess what...........

    THE PEDAL STILL CREAKS!!!

Got the engineer out to have another spray with his grease after a 20mins he finally decides he needs to strip out the dash and replace some parts!! so the car has got to go back in this Thursday!! why they couldnt do that the first time is beyond me!!

    Anyways rant over!!

yep they are not interested in doing the job properly the first time, so now you are inconvenienced by having to take the car back in very annoying IMO!

As mentioned in your welcome post I said I just assumed that all Vauxhalls have a creaking clutch as a standard feature ... every Vauxhall I have owned to date has had this issue getting much worse when hot. On my first Corsa C SXI I had Perrys take several looks at it until finally they decided they needed to change the master cylinder, they did this and did a very poor Job (like everything else they did to the car but that's another story), when I got it back bite was MUCH higher than it used to be and the clucth was a fair bit heavier ... and it still creaked on very hot days! So I have never asked for any of my cars to be looked at after that ... just learned to live with it! My current 55 plate V6 Elite does it too when warm!

I'd have lived with it for a few mths, sometimes that **** sorts itself out, annoying I know, but any car being retro repaired imo never goes back quite right.

It's a Vauxhall - creaky pedals come in boxes, fitted in the factory.

After you've had a few Vauxhalls, you'll get to the point where you'll not notice the creaking.

If your clutch squeeks and drives you mad.... just dont use it !!! (bit extreme I know, but it can be done easily enough)

You dont need to use the clutch except for selecting 1st Gear and Reverse anyway....

    All 'Advanced Drivers' know this

I had my clutch cable break once at a set of traffic lights. simply turned the engine off, selected first (without clutch) started the car and drove home without using the clutch at all. Didnt crunch the gears once !! My mate just couldnt beleive it !!! - Oh, and yes it was a manual gearbox...

Some people have to see it... to believe it

My clutch pedal did this for weeks, drove me bonkers, had enough one day and pumped it up and down furiously, there was a big bang n i thought oh s**t, but its been perfect for months now, no squeaks at all. Dont know what went bang and i aint looking either.

My driving skill tells me that my gearbox wouldn't thank me if I tried that...
