    Default Cricket Noise

    Hi All,

Since buying my Vectra 1.8 ls 2003 in October 2010, whenever I have the heater on there is a "cricket" type noise from the left air vent. So far I have cleaned out the air vent, took the pollen filter out and vacuumed all that area out. Today I removed the glove box and noticed that the wire connected to the fan is making the noise.

When I hold the block down the noise stops, initially I tried a cable tie. I wrapped the tie around the block and then around the plastic bit holding the glove box in place. This stopped the noise for a short while, but the rattling started again, I then lodged a scewdriver in there to hold the block down and its been fine since

Anyone got any better ideas on how to fix this please?

if you tighten the 5 torx screws up tight this will stop the rattle . Torx Screwdriver (T20)

Ste, its not the actual glove box as i've removed this and its in the boot!
The noise is coming from the connection to the fan behing the glove box

Yes it stops when the heater is off, may just leave the screw driver lodged in there and put the glove box back in as this cures it!

If a screwdriver wedged underneaath the block (connector?) helps, then why not tie a tie wrap around the block instead. The screwdriver could get knocked loose, you'd think.
