Was On My Laptop Earlier And Lost My Wireless Connection...

Other Half Was Still On Her Lappy So Know Its Not Modem/Router..

Tried Few Things..Eventually I Formatted Laptop,Installed Drivers...

And Its Still Fooked

No Wireless Networks Available..Think My Wireless Card Has Packed Up

My Laptop Is A Toshiba/Equium/A100

Anybody Any Ideas If Network Card Can Be Taken Out ?

not something daft like ctrl and f2 or similer to turn it back on is it? should be a aerial mast symbol, my acer has the on/off button next to on/off switch at top of keyboard

toshiba have a tiny switch on the front on some models, would be funny as (EDIT) if it was switched off...

My Theory Is That Invisible Aliens Come Down From Myanus And Flicked The Net Switch While I Was Otherwise Engaged

My Kids Go On My Lappy When I Aint In...And Net Switch Is Right Stiff..So It Must Have Been Near Enough Off And Just Clicked OFF lol

Was this reformat done following a call to your ISP's "tech helpline" by any chance?

hate having no net, pc is useless without it, lucky being with cable, from blueyonder days till now virgin media, my connection has always been rock solid, from dial up 4.3 kb/s to 6.25 MB/s it's been awsome

At least your PC will have the benefit of having a fresh rebuild to clean out the accumulated junk that gets added over time. I've heard it advocated that a rebuild on a regular (6 monthly or so) basis is beneficial for speed etc.

Personally, I never have as I'd find it too much of a pain to reinstall everything back on afterwards.
