Default What product to clean EGR

Planning on cleaning EGR this week following a dose of 10kboost and subsequent sluggish response.

What product should I be using to clean the EGR? Carb Cleaner and a tooth brush??

Cheers guys - got a tin of Carb Cleaner from when I cleaned the Boost Sensor at weekend.
Was really filthy - since cleaning and running 10kboost the car has been really laggy and sluggish...
Hope it's just muck that's been dislodged from the EGR making it's way through - should have stripped it down before the 10k boost on reflection

Not fancying splitting the unit, seen the pics - would rather give it a clean with what's accesable, if that doesn't sort it I'll replace it....

After cleaning and before fitting it to engine put 12v across the 2 terminals

The solenoid (EGR valve) should click and you can see the valve open and close

If it doesnt and you are happy all is clean and not seized then replace the EGR as it is goosed
