Is it ok to contact a cars previous owner if bought from a garage?

weird question i know, but im havin little problems pop up here and there with is ok. i bought it my problems. but after finding out my abs and tc lights have been taped up i would like to ask if it was the previous owner and if there are any other underlieing faults i need to know about. so no more suprises. or if it was the garage i bought it from being ummmm not very nice ppl

im a paranoid person and like a simple life!. just would like to prep my self for bad news! so do u think this would be ok, cheers guys.

Mate of mine was looking at a Calibra a few years back, buying from a garage. I asked for the V5 and called directory enquiries with the details off the V5. The previous owner was more than happy to explain why he sold it.
At the end of the day If it was you would you be happy for the new owner of your car to call you and ask about it, If it was me id have no issue with calling them.

you mite get "**** off mate its your car now" just warning you as bloke ran me after i sold my van he had it for 3months and rang to say he has cracked rims and that there was a pug primer in the fuel line and wanted his money back lol. just be prepered for it thats all

na was just an info call. i did buy it. so my problems. but hes ex directory anyway. Typical! he was ment to be a bobby aswell

I wouldn't recommend a phone call, a letter with SAE would be better

That'll be the reason he's ex-directory. Try M8internt's idea but as its 2011 id ask him to email you or include your telephone numbers instead.

cheers for that, should i enclude a list of things ive found and wondered if he new about them in the letter, or just a general letter saying ive got a few question about the car?
