Rear door wont open

Hi Folks,

Strange problem of the rear passenger door not opening, either from the inside or outside. The button pops up/down with the central locking ok, but the handles don't seem to operate.

The strange part is that this happened about a week ago but for one day it worked as normal! Now we're back to not opening again.

I'm guessing it's a linkage problem, but how can I get to it with the door closed?

Any ideas welcome!

Ok, I've got the door panel off - had to take out the rear seat.

I can now see the movement of the linkages which all seems to be in order, but the door won't open!

Should I assume the lock mechanism is jammed somehow?

Next problem - How do I get the lock off without the door being open?

you cant matey , are you 100% that there are no rods that are not connected ?

The internal one is disconnected due to the door panel being off and there is no loose 'evidence' in the bottom of the door to suggest anything has fallen off.

I can see the lever operating the lock mechanism when someone pulls the outside handle and I can assimilate the operation of the inside one. It's as though you're trying to open the door when it's locked - there's no resistance.

I've checked the operation of the lock rods and they are functioning correctly too. My only thoughts now are an internal fault inside the mechanism? That also might explain why it worked the other day!
