Default Should they notice this during a full service?

I just had a full service where they were suppose to change my air filter and clean its housing but they haven't so im gonna call them on Monday.
Anyway My Re-circ for my air conditioning is clicking when i power the car, I would have thought that during my service they would have noticed this and diagnosed it for me as the service is said to include checking of heating and ventilation systems. Should they of at least mentioned the recirc if they check the ventilation systems? Also the metal plate that sits under the N/S/rear has come loose from the car and hangs down but was not even mentioned to me after the service yet the service is due to cover checking of the underbody for damage and corrosion.
Should i call and ask why they never mentioned these to me or am i expecting too much for a full service?

    Thanks for responses.

If you've got a post service report that is all ok in the green I would def question it, if were me via trading standards as well if things really bad.

My 1.9 was running rough so checking all the usual bits I checked the airfillter .... Thick with dirt, looked like never ever been changed.

i had the clicking recirc problem. took the recirc motor and valve out from behind the glovebox. took it apart and reassembled it and no more noise. i just roatated the worn gear around a few degrees and it misses the knackered teeth now.

Check the front section of the service book, see if the Air Filter is due at this service
Check the service sheet that should have been included, replacing the item will include a "tick"

The body check is a chargeable item and has to be requested
However, I do agree the loose exhaust heat shield should have been reported to you

Personally, fix this yourself as it is very easy
Remove the bolts, insert large washers, rebolt
A common issue on all Vauxhalls

This was a peace of mind service as I could not verify the authenticity of my fully stamped service book (The garage that stamped it deleted the records after it was sold). So I decided to change the timing belt and water pump and get a full service to be on the safe side. The car had just hit 80,000 miles. The garage who did these for me have a flyer stating what will be carried out during a full and interim service.

When I collected the car I received no check sheet with ticks just an invoice with advisory notes.

The garage that issued this could wriggle out under some of the items

"as required" means it may not be required, this requires clarification
In most cases this means they open the cover, bang the filter, put it back in

Note the fuel filter appears twice
Same again, if the fuel filter has a tap they will drain the water
If not, then they will remove and replace

There are a lot of checks and very few "renew"
This is a sign the service is handled by a trainee or mechanic not fully familiar with such a vehicle

I also note "Inspect front/rear brake discs and pads"
Did you supply the alloy wheel lock?
    Did they actually use it?

Finally, I always recommend asking for removed parts (excluding oil and oil filter) back, and supplying a box lined with a bin liner for this purpose
