Default MOT Runaround - What happens next?

The Sun shone brightly for MOT day. The car had been recently serviced. I've checked all the bulbs and wipers, tyre pressures and fluids, just a quick wash before I set off.
    What can possibly go wrong?

(does a clean car help the MOT process? Not sure, but they might take a bit more care of a clean car, who knows).

So, I clean the wheels, get the mud off the lower bodywork, quick wash of the mid and upper sections, rinse, then chamois off to dry.
Mini hoover inside the drivers side footwell, then walk around the car to admire my handywork with the drivers door open.

It's time to head off to the MOT station, so feeling really confident now, I sling the chamois over my shoulder, close the drivers door, and ....

.... well, what do you think happened next?

    Yup. Got it in one.

Crash tinkle tinkle, and what was the drivers side door mirror ends up in several hundred pieces on the driveway.
Fortunately the 6-yr old was inside the house at the time with the door closed, else she might have wondered why Daddy was using lots of very naughty words shouting at his car.

Luckily, the MOT garage was near to a motor factors, so after a lot of running around and several phone calls, they did the rest of the test first, and issued the pass ticket when a very nice lady in a van delivered a replacement mirror glass within the hour.

So, many thanks to Camberley Auto Factors for the speedy service, and saving the day

    Option A
The handbraked released (because the owner hadn't correctly applied the sticker as required by the recall), the car rolled down the hill, owner chasing it, waving hands in the air, smashed into a store trolley, throwing that into the air into a skip, finally coming to rest in the local canal

    Option B
    Drove into the MoT station
"Sorry, your appointment was at 09:30 and it is now 11:30" or "yesterday"
