    Default Drop links

    Yeah..........Easy enough to get to.....No Problem......Half a can of penetrating spray later and the B*****d still wont budge.Snapped the ratchet on the wrench,took some skin of the knuckles when i slipped,swore a bit,swore a bit more,told Jesus how i felt about the situation,sprayed on some more penetrating spray,huffed and puffed a little more... Had a nice little can of nelson and a muffin,Then gave up and washed the car .

    Now sprayed both sides and will leave it to work its magic for a week.

    its that the top and bottom nuts on both drop links that you are stuck with?

    give me a shout if you can't shift them next weekend... i think i used a breaker bar on the bottom nuts...

    Heya,
    Just wondering what your using to crack them off? If your using your ratchet it may be the problem as you need the solid knuckle bar

    A ratchet should never be used to crack off a torqued nut as it damages the mechanism and the freeplay inside it will take out some of the effort your putting in. Go out and but a 1/2 inch knuckle bar set if you dont already have one and use that. As said, get a hollow pipe or bar that can slide over the handle to give you more leverage

    They should be tight but not a mega problem...

    i used a breaker bar on the bottom nuts too still wouldn't budge then realised i was going the wrong way

    Its okay I've seen trained mechanics struggle on a nut wondering why its so damn tight then realising they have made the worst mistake in the trade lol... always worth a few beer fines :P
