    Default Just need a little advice

    my key wont unlock my car on fob

    i was told that if i get a new fob and get it recoded to car it would resolve the not starting problem

    im fine with this not a problem but would i be able to buy 1 of the new flip style keys for my or will it have to be the standard key i have

    not fussed i just like the look of the new style and as i need to recode a key no matter what why not get 1 of those

    New key from Vaux (around £100) will be the flip key, the old type are no longer made.

    I guess you've tried the simple things like new battery and jamming it in place etc? Might be something simple like that - mine went through a phase of working on and off so put a new battery in and folded some cardboard up and wedged it on top so the electrics can't jiggle about. All fine now.

    just taken fob apart and a chip fell out from behind battery my mate has a second hand fob was his spare but wrote his car off so like new but coded to his can it be coded to my car??

    Cab only be coded once, my local cobblers are doing an offer at the minute, £80 for a new key fob programmed to car (cobblers, norton, Stockton) so check your local locksmiths rather than dealer
