Default CDC40 stereo with Harman Kardon IPOD I/F

    Hi all,

New to this, I've just swapped my 03 2.2i elegance (after 122k) for a new 56 1.9cdti design (150 of course with 18" rims, VXR styling pack, IDS, ESP & parking sensors ).

I've got a Harman Kardon IPOD interface which I've wired in apart from the aerial connection for the FM interface, now I'm stuck!, the CDC40 DAB stereo has a strange aerial connector, any idea where I can get converters (or any idea what connectors I could get from Maplin to do the job), also would adding the FM modulator unit **** up the DAB reception ?

    Cheers Cameraman

The Aerial connectors are the same as (i believe) BMW & VW any car audio shop should be able to provide you with the suitable adaptors.

As for mucking up the DAB reception. It will not as they have seperate aerials.

The Ipod connection kit sounds great, will have to see what it costs if it turns up. I paid £82 for the HK drive n play (off ebay against £150 in halfords), it seems to work ok as a fm transmitter, if a bit flakey, but it can be wired in on a aux input or via the aerial direct. The only input i've read about on the cdc40 was a mono for sat-nav or phone so it would be interesting to see how it would work, probably a new crop of stereos for the 2007 VX's?

This is a link to the IPOD connection kit however its another fm based kit like mine but I have a controller mounted on the steering column surround & a seperate display mounted on the dash, the ipod is in the glovebox, the colour of the bits is a good match for the vectra plastics.
