GSi exhaust system

Just received a quote from MIJ for a Cat back custom system for the gsi for £369 which i think isn't a bad price tbh.

Now im wondering how much i'd expect back for my standard system? as it is in fairly decent nick and would be gutted to swap it just for the sake of it.

Dunno whether to wait until my exhaust is ready to be done (few years yet though) or try to resell the gsi exhaust on but wouldn't have a clue what its worth?

Just really want them extra horses to move into standard older vxr territory

i would say a fellow mwmber would pay £150 to £200 for it maybe more nice for some one for a conversion in stead off a single pipe mate

Get the middle cat removed too, the precats will cope just fine, plus you may get a couple extra horses.

How would it do come mot time though? :/ thats what im worried about

Very tempted to get it swapped over, but just gonna double check the condition when i get her up in the air!

As I said they still cope fine. Mark gsi3.2 removed his and tested it. No problems what so ever. There is a thread on here about it if you fancy searching for it

If your GSi back boxes are in good nick with zero rust, you'd probably get £100 or more per box as the stealers want, IIRC, £400+ each

TBH mate, I bought my Vec C stock SRi twins for £60 including centre section, but i'd say the going rate for them looking at past sales would be about £120. The first thing to go will probable be around the welds on the Y and where the Y meet's the back boxes.

It's deffo not a problem, had mine de catted at MIJ whilst the exhaust was being done. Had the car MOT'ed at my local Vauxhall dealer at the beginning of Jan and had no problems.

My system with the decat cost me £405.

As for the standard exhaust i was thinking of selling it too but once i saw it on the floor in the workshop i thought how was i going to get it all in the car and told them to get rid of it.

Well i dont live too far away so would prob nip down in works van to collect it after. Certainly would want it back if its resellable.

Still cant make my mind up on whether to just wait till part of exhaust needs replacing, in which case i could persuade the missus a little better lol
