    Default headlight adjustment and hids

just wondering if anyone who has hids fitted has also done the headlight adjustment as done in duncans how 2? only asking as i fitted my hids last week but feel as though there is a great difference in the width of beam but doesnt seem to light the road ahead as much as i was hoping... or have i fitted the bulbs wrong?
    any feedback greatly appreciated.

You know what Tommy, After i fitted mine, i got the same effect. Loads of spread to the sides, but not a very big spread in front of the car.

But not driving that much at night i have not done anything about it. Ill be watching this with interest!

just been reading an old post by williamlx where the pictures he's posted dont resemble anything like the range i'm getting, there's also a post where someone has been told to turn the bulbs round so that the 'bar' on bulb is at bottom, this it seems is to avoid shadows but i'm wondering if there is a right way and a wrong way

funny enough, when car was in for mot last week they noted that the headlight level had to be adjusted so maybe they have set them lower than they should!

Well, when i fitted mine, i screwed around with the height setting and got it all screwed up. Took it to a local garage who put it on their machine and lined them up correctly.

Still, same as Tommy, they seem to have only a small range.

On a standard HID bulb, the ignitor strip should face towards the bottom. You can usually tell as the red wire,at the back from the bulb, faces upwards, and the black down. FELIXX.

Just been out and had a look on my car. The bulb will only go in one way due to the metal tab on the base of the light. To that end the orientation of the wires is not an option for me i'm afraid...

    Any other ideas?

    Cheers
