Default Airbox mod.....part deux!!! (rip off of VXR280 airbox mod)

Well been pottering today and finally gave this a go, been contemplating it for a while

Bored a 50mm hole into the top of airbox (opposite side to cold air intake), to try and keep it away from any water

Fitted a modified vent into the hole, and bonded into place,

Seems to pull stronger in second gear mostly, but througout the range and when under heavy load, but have only been for a short run, will be driving over to manchester tomorrow and back sunday (hopefully in time for next northwest meet) so i will report back then about how it is on motorway and also if any impact on mpg, but at the moment does look like its a little better on short runs

Nope, I just have the same cold air feed at the front

The cold air feed is still there so it is just providing more air mass, plus I have got it at the back so it should stay away from hot air, and car lives on motorway so I can see heat soak being an issue as the standard feed is still there, I would only worry about heat soak with a cone filer

Yeah more of an induction noise

I haven't drilled any holes in the bottom, they are just drain holes

So the VXR's have a similiar set up already?
No harm in trying it as you can always tape it up if you wanted to. Looks like another mod
