    Default Wiper blades - advice

My blades are smearing badly esp drivers side, in 3 places, one right in line of sight, its been the same for some time now on its return sweep (ok on the up sweep) the screen is generally clean and free from wax etc.

Iv'e used vinegar on both the screen and blades to make them cleaner still, its ok for a few hrs then the smearing returns, the rubber doesn't look perished though they are now 2 yrs old.

When cleaning the blades even after 4 attempts, a lot of black residue (rubber) appears on the cloth so im looking at changing them.

VX want almost £50 which got me thinking of alternatives, im assuming its the rubber blade part rather than the retaining arm the rubber sits in as it appears to be making full contact.

Has anyone tried changing the rubbers for other brands - I see Asda do some champion blades, Tesco do another brand, im sure if I look elsewhere there will be loads of options.

I was thinking of taking the rubber off these and affixing it into the vx arm (the champion arms look cheap and nasty compared to the standard VX part) or buying just the rubbers from a reputable brand

The blades on the front windscreen measure 23.5" and 18" respectively, anyone know who makes them in particular the rubber?

    Anyone got any observations???

    Cheers

I was trying to keep the existing arm as they are much better quality than the likes of Tesco and Halfords, but could be tempted to go for flat blades

Gibbon - dont suppose you can remember the seller?

If you are a costco member, 12 quid plus vat for a nice really good set of good year blades.
