Default People paying silly money for screwed wheels!

Ive noticed jus recently people are willin to pay daft money for vectra / vauxhall alloys on ebay! Last week a set of facelift sri wheels went for £350 quid where as lastyear sets only used to fetch £200, theres a set of 18" astra snowflakes on at the moment wi tyres wat are no good and every wheel needs a refurb, and the bids are upto £410 with a few days left! Imo theres no such thing as a bargin in the alloy department anymore for 5 x 110 alloys! Is there a reason people are prepaired to recently blow loads of cash on shot wheels? It only seems for vauxhall, u can get 19" audi a8 wheels for a golf for £200! So it must be a vauxhall thing

Supply out stripping demand I guess. I paid £275 for my GSi wheels, but that included 24 hour couriered delivery, so you could factor in £40 for that, and the tyres are more than serviceable with 5mm on the front and 3mm on the rear so I think I got mine for a good deal. But yes there do seem to be some silly prices out there for wheels needing a refurb and new tyres.

There was a set of 18" sport stars that went for £210 recently.

Even if you have really good wheels for sale all you get are knobheads and time wasters.

imho i think its down to a lot of vauhall forum members asking crazy prices for 2nd hand alloys now im not saying the alloys are not nice etc just seems to me a lot of aftermarket alloys are frowned upon on the forums so most guys that are on them hunt for the so called sought after 1s which in turn puts the price up so you get the supply and demand effect

aftermarket all the way for me! ppl frown on me if you want not prepared to pay silly prices for snowflakes or vxr, irmy rims cant stand them, to factory for my taste. need some imagination! be differnt! by aftermarket wheels so the prices come down on the flakes so i can snap up a set only joking, each to there own

You get the old classic as well of people finding out the postal cost of weighty items like wheels and adding that price to their sale cost.... then rounding up.

I was scanning over Ebay the other day and saw 18 inch snowies all needing a refurb starting bid was around £750 lol.

I am currently considering running 18s and the standard 17s in winter.

Cant settle on what I want though so just keep looking. I to am thinking about aftermarket alloys as you can get some realy really nice 18s NEW with NEW tyres for around £600.

Plus you dont get shot down for enquiring and not buying at a shop
