    Default least probmatic car?

Well guys the time is getting closer and clser to me giving my car back, getting a little sad now because i actually like it! but to many things need replaced and ive spent a fortune already on it.

because i drive alot thru work etc im looking to get a car below £10k, diesel but with decent power, low insurance (hopefully) and one that is generally reliable..

    Any suggestions?

I think the Fords TDCi has the same problem but are less common on the 1.9 120 model and the 1.7 cdti for Vauxhall.

to be honest i wouldnt mind having an auto.. especially if it dont have a dmf! whats the dpf problem? im honestly worried about the next car i get incase i get the same issues ive had with the vec, i just wish the vec behaved and didnt give me so much issues or i would have kept it, she is great on the motorway now that i have downsized to 17" wheels from 19".

is it wise to buy a 2004/2005 car if it has reasonably low miles? or is it the age that provides problems...

2.2 DTI would suit you from what I've read on here.

its pot luck in my opinion,.. My 08 1.9 150 CDTI has been great for over 50k miles in the last 2 and a half years. More issues with petrol in my experience, but others have different experiences,.. so... just a game of risk as with any car

DPF's block up due to short journeys and them not regenerating often enough.

my 54 plate skoda superb 1.9 tdi comfort has done 262 000 miles and only needed a new clutch and flywheel and loads of tyres brake pads and a few sets of discs, does 50mpg + so i would recommend one to anyone as mine feels like it will go on forever! downside is the old man styling aint to everyones taste, i dont mind it as i know i have a couple of nice cars to drive apart from it.
