Petrol Light - Will It Flash?How many miles?

Silly question but as soon as the light comes on i fill it up or if its close to red. Now last night the light came on while i did my 10 mile trip home, Question is once it gets silly low will the light Flash to say fill me up now you tight git?

Also how many miles would you say i have when the lights on as i usually say 20-30 max.

Only seen mine flashing once before and the needle was flat to the floor, not sure how much would be left in the tank but it cant be much more than a few Lt's at that point.

When it flash on mine. i have atleast 6-8 litres back.. when mine is flat on the ground i put in betweek 55 and 57 litres.

Depends whether you have a petrol or diesel engine. Your profile doesn't mention it.

My 2.2 (petrol) auto, I've squeezed approx 9 or 10 miles out of it when the light was flashing. When I filled up I managed to get 62 litres in. Considering the tank is 61 litres, and allowing a bit more fuel in the delivery tube, I calculated I was pretty much running on fumes.

Wouldn't matter if you did. Not very accurate anyway.

Only yesterday did i experiance this. Went to work with the fuel light on 16miles (TC range said 30miles) had all the intensions of getting fuel after work but when that came round realised i'd left my wallet at home fuel light started flashing with 6 miles left of travel to get to work. made it to work and home and to the petrol station. All in all about 24 miles traveled with light flashing. Did start to get abit worried on the way home from work with still 8 miles to go the TC range was on Zero, needles rock bottom. It was 0630 so i turned down the hid's down to sidelights, speed down to 45mph turned all heaters and blowers off to try and prevent running out as would of been in the middle of nowhere if i had. That was in a signum 2.0T. I was well impressed to say the least

I ran 20 miles after range read 0 once and it was fine. Another time I ran 4 miles after range read 0 and it died lol! Last night range read 14 miles... I filled up with 57 litres - so lots left in the tank. 1.9CDTi 150 that is.
