Default HID faults - yes / no?

I'm growing despondent with the HIDs fitted to my car back in December which worked perfectly well for ten or so weeks. Then two weeks ago, the nearside light failed and was proven to be a faulty ballast. This was fitted last week and now all seems ok. Then last night, the nearside went out while driving. Turning the lights off and on again will often re-light the bulb, but then extinguishes after a short while again.

So, just to see how many has HIDs fitted and who has problems with them.

I have and mine were from HIDS - 4 - US

THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE COMPANY!! THIS IS SIMPLY FINDING OUT HOW RELIABLE THESE THINGS ARE SO NO SLAGGING OFF EITHER OUTFIT HERE!!

I had a fault (bulbs strobing when turned off), but it was more a case of not getting the right kit for the car (pre-facelift 1.8 LS), despite the HIDS Direct site recommending 1 particular kit (Ultra).

I ended up returning the ballasts & exchanging them for the CANBUS PRO ones, using the bulbs & cancellers sent with the original kit.

So, my recommendation would be to get the CANBUS PRO kit in favour of the standard Ultra kit i originally got & there's only about a £10 difference in price.

mine is canbus pro. Considering removing them and putting up with standard lights despite how good they are when they work
