    Default Vectra SRI headlamp/ sidelights

I recently bought a 57 plate Vectra SRi, I've upgraded my light bulbs (dipped beam's). There was a slight improvement but hardly any on the distance. I'm guessing its because of the design of the domed light which isn't completely clear which gives the poor lighting? Are there any different headlamp designs out there (uk) which have a better design?

Also my sidebeam lights are pretty dim aswell (light yellow colour) Can these be upgraded to a brighter and better colour bulb which could improve on lighting?

Any help or advise on any of the above would be greatful

Mtec 501's or LED's for your side lights work best, but the LED's will fool your cars computer that a bulb has gone so you need to get warning canceling ones or just get mtec's

as for the headlight bulbs you can manually higher the beam distance to give you a better distance on the beam, but the best thing to do IMO is get some HID's, best mod i have ever done and will be the first on any cars in the future

Have you manually lifted the beam up using allen keys in the adjusters on the headlight unit. I had similar problems with mine. Did that and all solved. Theres a how 2 on it if you do a search

My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

Crikey, where have you been looking? The car assessories equivalent of Harrods or M & S?

    Got mine from HIDS4US

Other people will suggest HIDsDirect (who seem to have poor customer service and poor after sales service)

Easy peezy. Either bumper off or removal of air filter box (I prefer the former) and then it's plug and play. There are a couple of how2's as well - in the how2 section of all places.

All aftermarket HID kits sold have a disclaimer that they are for off road use only.

However, they will pass an MOT providing the beam is set correctly. So make a note of your beam height before you start (chalk or pencil mark on the garage wall) then check again after fitting the HIDs.

6000k is the best, IMHO. 4300k matches original factory fitted.

Some people tell their insurer, some don't. I did and no extra premium was requested. All they did (Tesco) was to make a note on the policy.
