Default Is the vauxhall 2.0 turbo engine reliable???

The vectra is being sold to make way for a people carrier

But the good news is i'm sticking with vauxhall and getting a zafira gsi which i believe has the same engine as the vectra 2.0t

Are there any known problems with these engines, things to look out for etc and are they reliable

    Any help/advice much appreciated

    Cheers guys

The Zafira GSi uses the Z20LET engine, the Vectra uses the Z20NET. However the good news is both engines seem pretty much as solid as they come. The Z20LET is a common swap into Corsa's and they go like stink and never seem to break unless you start running silly boost and be stupid with it.

    EDIT:

If you're interested, bit of a build log of someone swapping a Z20LET into a Corsa. Quite an interesting read.

Thanks for the quick reply, i thought i read on here a few times that the 2.0t were pretty bulletproof and as for them being slightly different

Whoops, just assumed they were the same engine

He stuck all that in a corsa - must have more money than sense

That would be this one but as Steven said, has upwards of 600hp now.

Yup, seem to be one of the most reliable in the range.

As said above, they're different engines - very different in fact. The Vectra's (Z20NET) has aluminium block and chain drive, the Zafira's (LET) has an iron block and belt drive.

The only thing i can think of failing on these engines are the turbo's are prone to letting go if the car has been tuned - but its a good excuse to fire on a VXR turbo

Z20NET is believed to be more reliable than the Z20LET.
