    Default Would you fail an MOT for any of these...

    1) Worn/leaking rear shock absorber
    2) Damaged inlet manifold
    3) Broken spring

    1, yes if its bad enough,
    2, possibly if its affecting the emissions
    3, yes deffinitley

    mine passed mot the other day and they went over the car with i fine toothed cone really pullin and haulin at parts thought it was a bit exsesive!!!

    Which shock and spring is it? Also which engine? Just curious. Rear shocks and springs are quite easy to replace. I have not tried fronts yet but bought some spring compressors last year.

    As for the manifold, I haven't tried to do one. If it were my car, I probably would, though.

    mate you own a vec, you should be used to this by now

    to be fair you should really get 1 and 3 sorted anyway

    Definatly 1 & 3, thats basic's, I guess 2 may effect the smoke test but thats just a guess.
