Default Banging from the rear end

Ive noticed over the last few days that there is a banging noise from the rear of the car when its driven over speed bumps , rumble strips etc.
Took the car down to a small local garage for a quick look ( i thaught it was a exhaust bracket or heat shield ) but he said it was all fine . Could not get the car up on the big ramps as he was dropping a clutch so he checked with a large jack, what else could cause this,

300 mile drive on saturday too , theres always something...aaaaarrghhhhhhhhhh

One possibility is the rear upper control arms, jack the car & rock the wheel.

The rear UCAs don't cause so much a banging from the rear () as a clunky rattling sound, in my very humble opinion. It could well be those, though. I replaced my own in a couple of hours about ten months ago.

I had the wheel alignment set up on a four-wheel machine afterwards too and some new budget tyres fitted. This work transformed the car! It tracks nice and straight, pulls up cleanly and straight-as-a-die and handles well for a large-ish car.

My UCAs were about £27-odd, delivered, from eBay.

I should say so. You may have to 'persuade' Vauxhall a bit, mind...
