    Default The result of the autopsy is in.

    Some of you may recall the trouble I've been having with my Signum.
    Just had a phone call from Hutchins about the gearbox problems I've been having and the result is;

    They've just ordered a new gearbox and oil cooler. It had failed and dumped its contents into the autobox destroing it.

    Still, at this rate I'll have a new car in two months time if this run carries on.

    funny that..NOT!!

    Mrs GSi's is in for EXACTLY the same thing...

    I've been told that the box i need is on back-order in germany, and they'll have to wait to get another batch made

    been told it could be up to 8 weeks for a box...

    so now she's in a corsa...and FAR from happy

    basically, the oil cooler seal's from the cooler to the rad crack, allowing pressurised coolant into the trans fluid..wrecking the box..

    Just sent this to VX;
    Good afternoon.

    I have been suffering with a spate of failures on my Signum in the last few weeks and am hoping you can help me.
    In the last month and a half it has had a new turbo, wastegate, actuator, catalyst, fuel pump, throttle valve, EGR valve and is now in again for a new autobox and oilcooler.
    As you canimagine I am not best pleased with this as I rely on my car for my job and need it on a daily basis.

    I have no quibbles about the dealer who is carrying out the work, Hutchins Vauxhall but what does worry me is that the car runs out of Network Q warranty in two weeks time and the Vauxhall warranty I believe expires at 60 000 miles. Currently it has done 51 000.

    As this vehicle has been so much trouble I am sure you would recognise that I am extremely nervous about something else failing. In light of this I would ask you to consider extending my vehicle warranty via Network Q for another year as a gesture of goodwill. I cannot afford to change the car for another two years and another major failure like this would be both unwelcome and financially disastrous.

    I look forward to your reply,

    Is the GSI box the same as the 2.2Dti I wonder?

    Mrs GSi runs a 2.2 elegance, not a GSI..

    that particular autobox is currently out of stock in europe.

    Oh dear. They have to put me in a hire car tomorrow and I have told them it must be of equivalent size and if not another Signum then an estate.
    May get expensive for VX if it's on 8 week back order.

    Me too, I use my car for work, and it's getting beyond a joke now.
    I'm guessing the box will be about £4k fitted. That must mean I have had around £8k's worth of work on the car in the last 6 weeks FFS!
