    Default uh oh! new induction kit followed by 4 fault codes!

    hi all, got a little issue. just fitted a new cone filter to my gsi bout 3 days ago. went out to the shops today and was greeted with a flashing eml light. so stopped the car turned it off and started it again. light went away. but when i got back i did the pedel test. and have 4 fault codes had a wee lookie sommit to do with an engine random missfire! and sommit to do with 4 wheel drive! totally stummped. please dont be bringers of bad news!

    P0110 Intake Air Temperature Circuit

    P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

    P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected

    P1814 Torque Converter Overstressed


    Looks like a spark plug away. Do you have an Automatic btw?

    no its a manual. a dodgy spark plug throw up all that? ha ha i looked up 1814 and i found 4 wheel drive i did wonder

    Could be a faulty coil pack rather than the spark plug. The first one may be caused by damage to the MAF when you fitted the induction kit.

    thats a right royal pain in the behind! i was super careful as well. handled it like it was made of glass!

    I would perhaps refit the standard air box and see if the faults return before buying new plugs and coil packs.

    too much oil on the cone filter can cause the MAF to fail

    think im gonna give that ago first. easyest option! just gutted, try to improve something destroy sommit else! sounds like my life in general

    what induction kit have you fitted?.. I had one one until recently i used it for about 10k. After a recent remap I started to get errors like you are getting, misfires on certain cyinders, multiple misfires on multiple cylinders.. I had a spare MAF which I fitted and it made no odds, I changed the plugs to a spare set of Platinums i keep handy but nothing made any difference.. I removed the enclosed induction kit and refitted my airbox with a performance panel filter and it sorted out all my issues...
