Chip is on the board somewhere. Not immediately visible.

How did you try resync'ing it? Two different ways, depending on age of car.

    That's one way.

The other way mentioned in the handbook is:-

"unlock door with key in lock. Inserting the key into the lock synchronises the radio remote" I'm pretty certain you also have to put the key in the ignition - which you would have to do anyway to silence the alarm.

If however you can silence the alarm with the remote fob, then the problem is with the central locking and not the fob. Have you checked the C/L fuse?

I take it that your key isn't a flip key? What can happen with the older type keys is a dry joint can occur on one of the battery contacts inside the fob. Now you can either attempt to resolder the joint, or place a thin piece of card on top of the battery and close up the fob, which then pushes the battery down harder on the contact.

I have a strange prob with mine, i have one key which will lock the car but wont open and the 2nd key is the opposite, opens every time but struggles to lock seems to be a prob with the little rubber buttons. Think i may need to order a new key but will try a bit card first
