    Default Sort of Productive weekend

Was changing my broken spring, fitting new front pads and changing the thermostat.

Springs went OK after a while (APEX, will get pics when clean and daylight!) but none were broken so WTF is the noise!!??

Brake pads came off OK, were well worn but after about 84k I'd guess they would be! Disaster strikes though - threaded a slider bolt AND knocked the wire on the passenger side for the ABS and TC.

    Never got to the thermostat!

So, asked a garage local to my work yesterday to fix the threaded slider (was just in and no more but was barely using the brakes) but he didn't get time, nor today but said I could use all his facilities and he would guide me where needed! Bonus! Got it sorted, just needed to tap (or is it die?) the bolt once and it was sorted, also got the new discs on.

Moral to the story - befriend a local back street garage and get use of a proper garage instead of a driveway, trolley jack and axel stands!

New hub ordered - need the ABS light off for the MOT at the end of the month.

And it turns out the 'boing' noise is the strut top bearing Had a quick look and they are not cheap!

Ah. lol - I did a quick ebay search and they were £59 or so but that was the bearing and the mount!

Autovaux it is then! Is that an MOT fail part?

This is what I got from autovaux mate so you have P/N if needed

According to GM parts catalogue, part number requested is correct, they are not currently listed on the website, price is £15.05 each inc vat

    P/N 13270705

    Cheers
