Vectra C 52 Plate Power Steering Problem

Does anyone have any help for me??
My Vectra power steering has now stopped working, the fluid level is ok and all electrical plugs are connected. It stopped working in July last year, it then used to work every now and then but it has now not worked for about a month. when it did start working it would work for around a week at a time.

Any help would be appreciated.

When the steering wheel is turned, can you see current drop IE lights dim out a bit.
Can you hear the pump whining when you turn the wheel?
Is the light on the dash illuminated? if do you will need the fault codes read via Tech 2.

Should be a fault code stored ;0 best to get it read as it might be a simple fix or it could be an expensive fix

I own a vectra at the moment but am looking at buying another. Its a 1.8i VVT but is being sold at a knockdown price as it has a power steering problem! the seller says it goes hard then works fine any ideas on the worse case scenario? cheers

Could be pump or fliud problems all sorts of things - TBH if you are in the market for a Vectra, and its not 100% perfect and/or the seller is not going to sort out these problems for you.. then I would walk away there are loads of Vectra's out there
Its not worth the hassle TBH
