    Default mixing anti-freeze

    can you mix different colour anti-freeze.ive got bright pink in the car at the moment and ive got blue in the shed.going to change the thermostat soon. cheers luke

    yes mate its fine ones a summer coolent ones winter there all same do same job

    I seem to remember it being said on here in the past that mixing different types can sometimes cause an unwelcome reaction (foaming) and should be avoided and it's best to stick to the same type.

    well i mite be wrong but i put what ever i have in my cars as any is better then none but id say it was fine wait and find out but i cant see it ****ing seals or anything

    look in a car shop blue is a winter and pink is a summer but im sure they do it in both iv got pink in mine and mines a winter one so id say there all the same (just had look at mine for you and the blue and pink in my garage are same in everyway same temp same stuff in it the lot)

    well iv never hear it hurting the car its a car i know we love them but cant see it harming it iv seen people use coke cola in there engine to get home (fishing no water so used coke lol) and that cars still going we did 100 mile in it and all it done was make the coke flat lol

    No dont mix them, the blue antifreeze is Ethylene glycol and the pink/red stuff is OAT (Organic Acid Technology), dont mix them imo. Go to the VX garage and get the red stuff, its only £3-4 a lt bottle, or £15 for 5lt.

    but on my bottles its all the same so i dont get that.

    Couldn't be more wrong. Use pink only. They both contain different chemicals and car makers specify which one should be used in there cars depending on the internals of the cooling system.
