Default GSI owners (past and present)

    Ok fellas.
This is just a WHAT IF type of question.

We all know the GSI is a great car but If you were to step down from the GSI what would you be content with?

Has anyone done this and now regret there decision?

Yeah Maf i would love to be able to afford that luxury step up (jammy sod lol)

So what are the economic benefits of the 3.0 V6 diesal? i.e mpg?
would also be interested to know bhp/nm and what luxuries the car has.
hmmmm also how good an engine it is. i dont think i have seen one of these.

On a long run you'll do 40mpg or more depending on the speed you're doing. Preface cars had 177bhp (I think) and facelifts had 186bhp. Believe both had 400nm of torque. Luxuries wise it really depends on the spec, I don't know if they put the engine in the Elite range but it did come in SRi and probably others but I can't remember them. As far as reliability goes, the general consensus is they're fine as long as you don't tune them, the fuel pumps don't like it much.

    Thanks for the info pal.
hmmmm i'm at a crossroad at the mo, no doubt you guys have seen my car in the cars wanted section?
i absolutely love my car but being a family man the costs of running it are crazy at the minute with fuel prices the way they are (this is my only reason i was lookin for something else)
    i just dont know
    will i regret it????

My GSi sadly went in July 2010 to be replaced by a 52 plate Citroen C3 1.4HDi Exclusive with 65k on the clock.

Regrets, yes. Not a day goes by without me thinking of it and looking at old photos. But at the time, the heart said one thing and the head said another.

Financially, I'm much better off and the C3 does 90% of what the GSi did 90% of the time. The other 10% is the loss of performance and luxury of the GSi but for now at least, I'm happy with my decision.

    mmm difficult one this.

I think my first choice would probably be as above the 3.0 V6 Derv. Not sure anything else would satisfy me if I had to step down from the GSI.

I've got to be honest I know where you're coming from, I've found myself recently wondering if I can warrant the cost of keeping it in petrol and road tax. The GSI is car I wanted for a while and took a long time looking for exactly the right one and after owning it for a year I really don't want to change it especially to step down.

    Not any easy decision.
