Thumbs up Got my car back from the dealers !!!

Just been and picked my vectra up from the dealers after having a new fuel pump.

the total for a new fuel pump, cambelt change and new thermostat come to £1482 !!!

just aswell it was covered under warranty !!

plus the £212 foir the egr valve and it has cost the garage where i bought the car from £1700 quid in 3 weeks !! ouch.

anyway she seems to be running quite nice, the temp is getting up to about 87 deg and the mpg seems to have improved too.

not sure why but it seems to be a lot smoother through the revs too.

Just got my air filter and pollen filter to change now and then i can start to enjoy driving the thing.

    cheers

    steve

p.s the fuel pump on its own is £748 plus vat.

The garage you bought it from are probably passing the cost of the warranty work on to an insurance policy.

    Wow that's steep!!

But as jezzy said, the garage are probably trying to make a few quid out the insurance/warranty

They must love these insurance jobs. Making a killing.
£212 quid to fit an egr (oem part is <£100)! One person could fit 100 of those in a day - easiest job ever.
