    Default New Manifold fitted. OMG

Just had a short drive in my car after having the inlet manifold replaced, just to warm it up and check for any leaks, and OMG it's like driving a different car. I hadn't realised how much power it had lost after driving it for the past 3+ years. I'm going for a good run in it shortly (100mile round trip) and I'll post some pics of the crud that was choking the egr, manifold, throttle body and boost sensor when I get back. I just can't believe the difference in power now. I'm going to happily blow £20.00 worth of fuel tonight.

A job well done my mate Howie and his son Gary. It was blowing a gale and freezing. 8 hours all in, they'd never done one before and had a few problems with leaky pipes, they also fitted a new timing belt kit and water pump, auxillary belt and a new thermostat, the temp now sits at 85 degrees constantly, whereas before it struggled to get much above 70. Just call me Happy Larry.

I've just got back from a good run in the car, it's so much more responsive, and a hell of a lot quicker. You can see in the pics how choked up it was in there. The new thermostat is doing what it shoud at last, it seems odd seeing it sitting at 85 degrees all the time. After seeing the water pump, my mate said it was getting close to failing, quite stiff to turn. So pleased that's all sorted now. Really chuffed with my car now, can't wait to get the exterior sorted.

Over 30,000 miles with the swirl bar off hasn't helped lol. The car's never given me any trouble though, it ran quite well but had dropped alot of it's power.

It will come back within a year. My plan is to blank the EGR valve off.
