Talking Finally pick my 2.0T sri up today!

Finally the time has come to say goodbye to my diesel fiesta and say hello turbo!

its a 2006 facelift sri with 40,000 on the clock, full service history and one owner and was a bargin, especially from a dealers.

Have to be honest i'm not really looking forward to filling it up! especially when i'm used to getting nearly 60MPG out of my fiesta

went for the 2.0T because of good reviews basically so hope it's a good engine, any common problems to look out for? also what do all the 2.0T owners think of theres?

Seems to be the most reliable on here,.. only the mpg won't be any good.. the 150 CDTI manual would not be far off your fiesta mpg and is certainly no slouch

MPG on my 2.0T over last 4K miles is 30 mpg and thats majority short trips (office is 3 miles from house). Occasional blast down the M42 or M5 also. I think this is very respectable given the car size and the rough 212 - 223 bhp its putting out. The dervs will do more MPG no doubt but I cant live with the noise and narrow powerbands personally.

On average I get around 320 - 340 miles from a tank, however i cant see any issue with 400+ if you use the motorway.

Common issues tend to be boost sensors, a little boost pipe and a few with the garret turbos (think yours will be a mitsubishi one) have had wastegate issues.

Mine is mapped and recorded 181 bhp at the wheels with blocked cat and blowing gasket which are now rectifeid. Then my wastegate started to come loose so I had it stripped and a moddified garret one from turbo technics put back.

Its a great car especially on the motorway.

ps I run mine on V power only.

Well,.. had mine over two years, done over 50k miles, not a problem. It's by far THE most common engine in the Vec so you are bound to hear more reports. A well maintained one should be fine as with any car.
Having had a 2.2 direct petrol (VERY expensive!!) I can imagine the 2.0T being a dream to drive!

good choice, its a superb engine, motorway miles is very good for a petrol turbo and the power output is also great, it takes well to mods aswell ie remaps, panel filters etc, there 175bhp standard & with just a courteny sport panel filter, air box mod & powerflow exhaust im sitting @ 190bhp!!! remap soon which will break the 200bhp marker easily! get some pics up buddy

Love mine. Would say its a speedy compromise car. Does reasonably for performance and economy but I would say leans more heavily towards performance. All my friends are in awe of it. Its become a cornerstone for all their future cars haha.

You can take the heat sheild off and see mine has garret stamped all over it.

Dont worry too much mate, they can be fixed and it has nothing to do with the map, if its gonna go its gonna go.

The garrets are good to around 235 bhp and the mitsubishis around the 250 bhp mark.

Get your airbox mod done, a nice panel filter and a remap and youll have 210+ bhp easy.

30 mpg is great given the car size and trip distances. My previous type R GT would do 26 round town if driven like a nun (which was useless as below Vtech it had 130 bhp and 142 ft lbs trq) and would only just manage around 36 on the motorway sat at 70 with cruise. If you actually used the power it would do 20 mpg lol sounded amazing though lol.
