Default Flat battery... Coincidence that I've just fitted reverse sensors?

Just went to start my Veccy and battery is dead! Reading 10 volts or less after a couple of turns of the starter.

I spent a few hours today fitting and testing my new parking sensors. All seemed fine, they work like a dream, I'm well pleased. Got them connected up to the reverse light positive feed and the common neutral on the nearside light cluster.

I'm guessing that my now dead battery is just down to me having the car open for hours with the lights on etc, but I'm worried that it could be something that I've screwed up!

How can I test the to make sure my parking sensors aren't at fault?

I noticed when trying to start the engine earlier that the centre display was telling me that various bulbs were gone at the back (both sides). All lights working fine though... Reckon this is just a result of the electronics going haywire because of the low voltage from the battery? Also found that the locking is playing up (which also seems to cause the radio to emit a couple of bursts of static!)

Id put it down to exactly this. Maybe your battery is on the way out too.

Same thing happened to me when I fitted my front and rear Dolphin system. Finished the work on a Friday, didn't need to use the car until the Sunday, went to start it and just got a clicking solenoid sound. I then relocated the Dolphin system power feed to a switched feed and haven't had a problem since.

My battery is a genuine GM with a little window in the top to supposedly show how good it is...

I can't see anything through it! Is this normal for a duff battery? I don't remember it showing green even when it was brand new
