Both nearside inner tyres worn VEC C Turbo

Well, took rear wheels off yesterday to do brake pads and noticed first 1" of tread on nearside rear has nearly gone although complete rest of tyre is around 4mm across the top.
The offside tyre has even wear all across the tyre and all tyres were same depth when fitted.

So after the wheels were back on i checked the fronts and the same thing appears to be happening to those, nearside front worn inside about an inch but offside fairly even wear.
New tyres going on real soon but what could be causing it???
The car an 08 plate and not lowered (YET) but it is worrying if thats the wear ou get on standard set up
Planning on having wheel alignment done but could there be something else wrong too.

I had this on my vec with the rears also... I replaced the front wishbones drop link & arb bushes then done the banana arms on the rear.

Took it down to my local 4 wheel geometry alignment place which sorted everything out..

So far , so good

i would say you defo need a 4 wheel alignment doing... that car is not that old to have worn out so many parts.. Has it been pot holed or had a good kerbing session...

no nige, it seemed to have a good life before us (as far as i can tell) and to be fair the wife is a very good driver. The cars been faultless since we had it last year and other than this tyre issue i am over the moon with it.

Will be going down the 4 wheel alignment route very soon

i would have asked if its driven enthusiastically but as you said your wife drives it im not so sure, a decent 4 wheel laser alignment by people who know what they are doing is vital

To be fair she doesnt hang about , safe and in moderation, me i love to drive it, again when allowed it just makes my vixer feel even more powerful when i jump back in that,

well that is a possible reason, probably not the full cause though it could be a collection of hardish driving at times and bushes that are starting to wear. ure best bet is to have someone with a proper top end 4 wheel laser aligner have a look at it and check all the bushes and joints etc over for any slight play. vectras are known to be hard on rear tires, a mates brother has a vectra on 19 inch snowies that would go through rear tires like they were going out of fashion its better now he ahs lowered it but still not great

Seems like some tyres are more prone than others, but rear camber is difinitely an issue and needs to be set on top limit to minimise or reduce this issue. Having assymetric tyre helps as you can rotate to minimise the issue. When I had the original Bridgestones which were directional, The damage was done on the rears so once put on the fronts the tyre was worn and the noise was evident. No such problem with 19 inch contis and correctly adjusted camber.

remember this is just one side of the car lads, front and back.. not both sides.. You can end up changing so many bits that do not need changing when its just needs the camber, caster and toe adjusting, fingers crossed.
