    Default Front disk help

I need to renew my front brakes, i managed to get the pads out fine and the caliper carrier bracket type thing out ok, but some muppet has rounded the small hex screw on that holds the disk on, anyone know of any quick fix? or am i going to have to drill it out?

    Many thanks.

    p.s. its a 2006 1.8 sri nav if it makes a difference.

I had this problem. I drilled into the screw and then hammered a flat head screwdriver (one slightly bigger than the hole I drilled) in as far as I could. I was then able to unscrew it but I guess it depends on how tight it was screwed in originally! HTH

Once the head of the bolt is drilled off the disc should come off. Then it should be just hand tight unless its rusted up. if so then file two flats on either side of the bolt thats sticking out and use a shifter to unscrew it. no need to drill and tap unless its stuck solid.

Or just hammer a larger torx drive in. Get some wd40 on it, get the caliper hot, (hard stopping) and than as fast as you can get to work.
