    Exclamation Judder in 1st

Hello all, i''ve got a problem with my 2006 1.8 sri. When pulling off in 1st, usually the first one of the day when its cold. It seems to have a violent judder, then its fine the rest of the day.

Has this happenned to anyone before? I would like it fixed, now im handy with the spanners but there doesnt appear to be any obvious adjustment of gears/clutch. And the car is on 69000mls so way out of its warranty.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

I have the same problem with mine (same engine!) have had it looked at by stealers but nothing found! CLutch judder on this engine is a common fault though! Mine seems to be missing a lot too but I think that may be coil pack.

I had this on my 2.8 after it was sat over the weekend (around -7 at night) and then I drove to work. Our engines whack up to 1300rpm on startup for around 30 seconds before setting back on normal idle speed.

I decided as I was late I would only leave it around half that time and set off. Got a judder/misfire feeling when putting my foot down any more than 'slight acceleration'. After 60 seconds it was fine. Just put it down to the engine being cold possibly affecting the spark... havent checked my battery connections but this can also cause a similiar problem with a poor connection.

When you last have your plugs replaced? Mine are brand spankers so it shouldnt be them but it is possible they are on their way out

well it had a major service last august, timing belt got done too. So im presuming they were changed then. Might pull them out and have a look at their condition.

my 1.8 used to do this, just once like trying to stall, only first thing in morning. Then it got worse and was missing all the time. I changed the plugs and coil pack and it doesn't do it at all. I wonder if it is the first sign of coil pack starting to go?

Mine has started to do this and I was thinking coil pack too.

Noticed the odd judder here and there when putting the power off and on

shame they are so damn expensive otherwise i'd try one
