Default What is the best engine on a Signum?

Been thinking of going to the dark side and getting a Signum, they have really grown on me.

Been looking at the 2.0T, 2.2 and the 2.8T.

Anyone got any advice on which to avoid?

Also, what is the max power you can get out of each by doing usual things (remap etc...)

300 bhp out of the 2.8t with a remap if you don't mind paying for the pleasure of driving one its by far the best in the range. If you want lower running costs go for the 2.0t.

And what can you get out of a 2.0t?

Is the 2.8t a bit thirsty then? lol

Cant do a lot to them though.....what they like on reliability? Had a 3.2 petrol vectra, now i have the 1.9 150 which has too many issues. Want a petrol back!

Mine's on 108K, had it since 82 and not had a single issue mate. You're right though, no tuning options unfortunately... However, mine is rather unique, and for sale...

You can get about 220bhp from a 2.0t with a remap, the 2.8T would be my choice though, its lazy in comparison to a 2.0T and faster, and should see big mileages.

In the real world a remapped 2.0T wont see any better mpg figures than a 2.8T, but will be cheaper on tax.

It all depends on what you want from a car, the 2.0 is fast enough with a remap, the 2.8 is very fast when remapped and can scare some "performance" cars!

2.8t or the 2.0t then. The 2.2 I drove was gutless and very thirsty.

What you also want is a nice set of wheels..... I may have some

get a 55 plate 2.8t and avoid the massive tax too
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Not true, there's a big difference in MPG between a 2.0T and the 2.8T - that's like saying there's no difference in MPG between the 2.2 and 3.2. Remapping a 2.0T doesn't make it any thirstier unless you're using the extra power that the remap generates.
