I have a custom made exhaust on mine, cat back, 5x3 twin oval back boxes (1.9 cdti 150).

The choices were - "quite", "not so quiet", "loud" and "**** your neighbours off loud" so I went for "not so quiet" option.

The immediate noise and performance difference was dissapointing. However, over time it freed up (and it was a good few miles) and the noise and performance came good.

I suppose to describe the noise it is a low booming resonance really. I often get it described as "Beefy". It doesn't really change pitch much either, just gets louder and "beefier" as the revs increase. Not my words. Now in the car at low revs or low load you can't really hear it but get the hammer right down and you have to raise your voise to be heard in the car. Also, with my other mods I get a pretty good turbo whistle too.

I would bear in mind though that being a diesel it is never going to sound like a skyline!!

Note, I got mine done at exaustsuk in sheffield (I think it's sheffield anyway) and it was £475 fitted over a year ago. Search this thread New exhaust, exhaustsuk.

Never heard of them, take it they are good.

Problem was, when I got mine, the only people making them off the shelf were Scorpian and they were dear and only had 4x3 tail pipes. Plus I have little'uns in the car so too loud and I wouldn't hear them........ So, naturally I have often thought about going back and getting the p*ss the neighbours off option!!

so are you basically saying get a piece of pipe that reaches the back of the car put that on rather than an exhaust? lmao, if i dont wanna **** my neighbours off which i dont (guy next door is built like a s*it house lol) should i keep my silencer?

think it will be a trip to cobra/exhaustuk seen as there only 10mins from me
